Great Minds in Use . Hawthorne Elementary School . 2023 . Mixed Media Mural Design . 7’ x 6’
The ‘Great Minds in Use’ mural was created with the whole Hawthorne Elementary school. We’re sad that the school just recently closed, but we are forever grateful for getting to work with each grade, all the students, teachers and the principal to create a mural that represents them. They came up with the theme and we came up with the design. Thank you to everyone that helped bring this project to life. It took a lot of great artists, many ideas and a lot of creativity to create this.

DIVERSE CITY . Edison Elementary . 2010 . Glazed Tile Mural . 3 Sections at 5’x 5’
Edison Elementary contracted with Bad Dog Arts in 2010 to work with 4th and 5th Grade Students to create permanent artwork to enhance one of the school hallways. Students from 4th and 5th grade classes were introduced to working on individual elements of wilderness. community, and city themes. After students were acquainted with the overall themes, they started working on developing their own ideas for the project. They designed their own theme elements, utilizing line, pattern, and color. They were then introduced to recreating their designs onto 6”x 6” tiles, then learned the glazing process. The tiles were fired, and then installed in three sections for the hallway. Students were then able to see the part their design played in the overall mural.
